How does Microban® antimicrobial protection work on my WynnShield™?

Microban® protection is embedded into the WynnShield™ during manufacturing process. When bacteria come in contact with the product surface, Microban® protection penetrates the cell wall of the microorganism and disrupts the cell, making the microorganism unable to grow and reproduce.

How long does Microban® protection last?

Microban® protection is integrated into the finish of the WynnShield™ during the manufacturing process, ensuring it remains intact and does not wash off or wear away. The effectiveness of Microban® is directly tied to the lifespan of the WynnShield™, which is influenced by the user’s wear and tear. If the WynnShield™ experiences strenuous degradation in the future, it may compromise the efficacy of Microban®.

Can I take pictures with WynnShield™ on?

Yes, you can take pictures with WynnShield™ applied. However, due to the film’s clarity, images may appear slightly distorted. We are actively working to improve this. For better clarity, simply pull down the WynnShield™ below the camera using the handling strip. After taking your pictures, lift the WynnShield™ back up and press it securely in place.

Can I charge it?

Yes, you can charge with MagSafe technology while the mobile device is wrapped by the WynnShield™ or by opening up the WynnShield™ and plugging in power cord, be sure to seal back around the cord.

What is the definition of antimicrobial?

An antimicrobial is a substance that acts to inhibit the growth of bacteria and suppresses microorganism reproduction.

This provides an added level of product protection against damaging bacteria such as bacteria that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration. Microban® is not effective against disease causing bacteria.

What types of bacteria does Microban® protection work against?

Is it water resistant?

Yes, the WynnShield™ is water resistant but is NOT water proof.

Is it possible to wipe off or remove the Antimicrobial feature?

No, the antimicrobial additive is part of the film, not a coating that can rub off.

How quickly does the product work?

Can you use a WynnShield™ more than once?

Can I wear my gloves and use my device?

Yes, the WynnShield™ is glove compatible.

Can I wipe off my device when the WynnShield™ is on?

Yes, cleaning agents and bleach will not impact antimicrobial performance. The antimicrobial additive is part of the film, not a coating that can rub off.

How do I know that Microban® antimicrobial product protection is safe?

Consumer safety is a fundamental concern for us.

The Microban® antimicrobials used in the WynnShield™ protective antimicrobial wrap are approved by the US EPA and have a history of safe use.
